Anathema

Maevyth stands before the Umbravale, seeing Aleysia pacing on the other side of the barrier. Melantha urges Maevyth to go through the barrier, and they hear Solassions pursuing them in the distance. Maevyth feels like Melantha is tricking her, but she repeats the spell that Melantha tells her to get through the barrier. Arrows strike the ground around them, and something pushes Maevyth through the barrier to Mortasia.

Maevyth wanders through the forest, seeing no signs of Aleysia or any life. When she hears Aleysia call her name, she ignores it, remembering the tricks of the forest. She reaches the archway and passes through to Foxglove, which is cold and empty.

Maevyth hears Aleysia call her name again and goes to Agatha’s home, finding it empty and abandoned. The only life she finds is a mouse in her and Aleysia’s bedroom. Maevyth heads for the front door but sees the basement door open. Something hits her head, and she sees a shadowy figure before losing consciousness.
